Catching Up

So it has again been a while since I updated this. We have been pretty busy getting ready for the holidays. Jud and Kayla had a great time at the Dallas Cowboy game, Thanksgiving day. They watched the same movie 4 times. We did finally get our tree up. Jud loves the train under it. We also went to Yvette's Gingerbread House decorating party. It was a lot of fun. We are mostly ready for Christmas, and very excited about Nona and Papaw coming. If you get down to North Park Mall look for Jud's train. We have not made it yet but hope to soon, I will post pics when we do. But in case I don't get to this again for a while, have a very Merry Christmas. We wish you all the Blessings of the Season.

In Loving Memory

Today was a pretty nice day, until late this evening I realized that George was not himself. He was just laying in his litter box and when we tried to get him out he didn't want to come. After calling about 6 clinics we finally found one in Grapevine that treated rabbits. So Marc left with him and called about 5 minutes down the road, George wasn't breathing. We aren't sure what happened but it happened quickly and seemed peaceful for George. Tomorrow morning we will have to tell Jud, that our buddy is gone. Please pray for us.

Snow Plow

It has taken a long time but he is finally getting snow plow stops. He would still rather slam into the boards.

Hockey

So as some of you know, Jud is only somewhat interested in the game of hockey. Don't get me wrong the child loves to skate, he just doesn't have his head in the game. But the game came right to him so he went for it. Not great results but we get so little video of him actually playing, I couldn't resist.

Skating W/ Dad

Jud really has fun skating with Dad. They were playing tag. Guess who is "it"?

Skating With Mr. Jay

Well I finally got a video to load. Jud was practicing crossovers with Mr. Jay, but at the end he gets a little distracted. He is skating so well.

Arboretum

We went to the Arboretum on Monday and it was great. Jud was so good about letting me take pics. He had a blast in all the pumpkins. We were all over the place though, pretty much from end to end. I picked a few of my favorite photos, it was hard because my son is just so darn cute.

I forgot

Well I did forget our big news. Jud got promoted to Mini Mites. He now goes to hockey twice a week. He was really excited, you can't really tell since he is such a goof on the ice. He really likes to skate though, still not sure about the actual game. While the other kids are in there trying to get the puck or score a goal, Jud seems more interested in doing spins and practicing his skating skills. It can be quit painful to watch, but kind of amusing in the right frame of mind, too. He is not at all intimidated and when he gets going really likes to "battle"(his phrasing) for the puck. He is so excited that Nona and Papaw are going to be coming and will get to see him skate. Well I am all caught up I guess, check back soon.

Update

So I am a little behind again. We have just been really busy, and I have been really lazy. Jud has been running a little. We ran sprints one day and practiced for a race. We did a walk for juvenile diabetes and Jud and I ran just a bit. It was really crowded but we managed to break free of the crowd. It was a fun day with friends. Of course after the walk we went to Cheesecake Factory. Jud had picture day at school last week. He wanted to wear his suit but I talked him out of that. I didn't think it would survive recess. But he did wear his pirate tie. I should get the kid an agent he is so cute, then he could buy his own clothes. Well that is it for now, I will update soon.

Bad Blogger

Okay, I am probably not the worst blogger but I am pretty bad. It has been over a month since I updated this thing. All I can say is that we had a very busy August. I am going to add a few photos and maybe some video. Jud went to his first hockey camp at the end of July, he had a blast. John and Jay did a great job with the kids. In August we went to visit Nona and Papaw. Jud followed Papaw around for 3 days and never stopped talking. Poor Papaw, didn't know what hit him. Jud and Nona spent a lot of time on the computer and now Jud and I are Webkin junkies. Our good friend Pastor Russ passed away and we miss him but are so blessed to have had him in our lives for even a short time. Jud also started his new Pre-K and loves it. He teaches me Spanish and tells me all about music. Jud also started skating once a week with Mr. Jay. It is still really fun to watch Jud skate, most of the time. He often looses his train of thought and wonders off into "Jud Land". So we are pretty much updated, if you check back between now and Christmas I may have posted again, haha.

Hockey

Here is Jud in his new hockey jersey Nona and Papaw got him. He is doing really well. It is pretty funny that he is more coordinated on skates than out of them.

Golf

Well we are taking up another sport, golf. Jud likes to go out and hit and putt. He does okay for a 4 year old. He at least looks like a golfer. I can see lessons in the future.

Flips

So my child can't really swim but that doesn't seem to stop his enjoyment. He was being flipped in the air but I guess decided underwater might be fun, too.

Adventure

Jud had a great time at the Natural Bridge Cavern, once he realized there were no giant spiders, that is a long story. But, the best part was climbing the rock wall for the first time ever! I think I might have an extreme sport junkie on my hands. Next it will probably be sky diving, but don't tell Jud I said that.

On the Ice

Hockey Night

So tonight was our first hockey class. It went very well. There were about 30 kids there, maybe 3 or 4 of them were Jud's age. He did okay and seemed to enjoy it, except he wanted a puck. The best part he said was the Superman slide(they skate fast and then slide on their bellies). So I took an extra card so I could take a bunch of photos and some video, however I didn't check my battery. I took 3 photos and it died, there goes my parent of the year award. Jud was very excited to have Ms. Fay come tonight as well. I will add the one photo I got of Jud actually on the ice in all his gear.

Cup

Someday Jud is going to hate this but, it was too funny. The most exciting part of getting all this hockey gear is the "thing to protect my penis". He has finally started calling it a cup. He is pretty cute, but it does take a little work to get him all suited up. Of course Mama is the one who has to learn to do all the equipment, he could end up with his cup on his elbow, lets hope Mama is a quick learner and gets it all right.

Ms. Andrea

Here is a really cute picture of Jud with his skating instructor Ms. Andrea. He really likes skating with her and she is so patient with him, even when he swizzles instead of wiggling:-)

Slap Shot

So hockey has become my life. Pretty surprising since I really don't understand the game. Guys chasing a puck on skates in the cold, not my idea of stimulating, but here I am. Jud is practicing his slap shot in the driveway, you might notice the very wide shot he takes at the end, my car is okay by the way. It is pretty scary to think he will be skating with a stick very soon. I am glad I have a nice safe seat behind shatterproof glass.

Cross over

Jud was learning cross overs today at skating. He is really excited, he gets to move up to Hockey 101 in June. He got to skip pre-hockey(thanks Ms. Andrea, those private lessons really helped) He was so excited to get his gear, but they had to order most of it. So back to cross overs, Jud's feet are pretty big and getting one over the other is pretty hard without throwing skates and ice into the mix, but he finally got it with his right foot.

Blastball

Jud is playing blastball again this year. He really likes it. The kids are hilarious. The premise of the game is a scaled down version of T-ball, they hit off the t and run to one base that honks. When they field the ball they just all line up in front of the pitcher's mound. It can be pretty funny.

Bon Jovi

Okay, a non Jud post but this was really cool. I went to the Bon Jovi concert with my friend Yvette and we had a blast! We were in a suite not quit behind the stage and it was great. We could see everything. They still have "it". I took some video but will have to wait for my "techie" to post that. Oh, Jud did get a t-shirt, which he thought was really cool.

Take a Bow

Tonight was test night at skating. After the kids completed each skill Mr. Jay had them take a bow and wave to us. It was kind of cute. Jud likes skating most days and will be in Advanced Tots now. He is going to have his other instructor Ms. Andrea next session. We have a year before he can actually do pre-Hockey, but he already wants to get pads and gloves. Although this evening he wanted to wear figure skates. They are easier to skate in for a silly boy who just likes to skate fast.

Eating snow

March 7 2008 Well two pretty nice snow days in one week. Jud loves to eat snow, we put some Nestle Strawberry Quick on it and it was breakfast.

Snow

March 4 2008. We were so shocked by the snow. Our neighbors took this pic of our house. It was gone by afternoon, but sure was pretty while it lasted.

Wave Pool

Medium Slide

Hi from Great Wolf Lodge

Our Little Vacation

Well we went to the Great Wolf Lodge and had an absolute blast. Jud was so worn out that I couldn't get him out of bed this morning. The room was really nice, and the water park was excellent. Since it is only for guest use and it is early in the season it wasn't crowded at all. Jud was so excited when we got there we thought he was going to have a heart attack. His little heart was pounding out of his chest. I picked out a few videos to post of highlights, you couldn't really video the big slides but Jud went down all but one. We are planning a trip back already.

Kiddie Slide

Jud started out small but he got brave and went on all the big slides, too. He had a blast.

Oops

Well Jud was doing great with the swizzles, then had a little wobble at the end, but then he decided to play a little and fairly, gently bumped the girl in front of him. It was really kind of smooth if he was trying to get a date, except she didn't seem amused.

Swizzle Man

Jud finally got the hang of swizzles! I think the hockey skates are easier to move in but also a little trickier.

Hey Daddy

Ok, so Marc finally taught me how to do this. Jud had a pretty good night at skating. He used his hockey skates for a change. They make it harder and slow him down some. He was showing off for Daddy.
